Instinctive Compassion

Belonging to the first batch of trainees implementing TCM therapies at San Lazaro Hospital, I was tasked to assess a patient at the TB ward based on TCM and perform the therapy the patient needed at that time.

In front of me was a body that was all skin and bones. After gathering information from the relatives of the patient,  I was looking for some flesh where acupressure may be applied with or without a gadget but there was none.  I learned that some if not most of these patients go to the hospital when they already have difficulty in breathing.  Once they are relieved with an oxygen tank, they're main complaint would be incessant coughing.

I knew what to do to relieve the complaint, but I admit when I saw the body that looked like a living dead, I had a mental block I didn't know what to do.  The body reminded me of a corpse of a child that I sew after it was autopsied, when I was a Medical Technology intern at the National Children's Hospital.

But this patient is living, my compassionate nature prevailed and my first instinct was simply to comfort him, regardless of his complaint. I got my comb gadget and combed his scalp because I knew it would comfort him.  That made him look relaxed so I came to my senses and thought of the best way that would stop his coughing by scanning that magical comb gadget on the lung meridian of his arm.  His coughing stopped and by the time I left he was already sleeping.  I did the same to the next two patients who complained of incessant coughing and I was glad the same result was achieved:  incessant coughing stopped and they became sleepy. Only one out of the three was awake when I left, but that was because she won't stop telling me her stories.  She told me though that what I did made her feel relaxed and sleepy.

A New Beginning

I'm getting ready for a new beginning.  It was unexpected, I mean to seriously pursue a new career as a Doctor of Naturopathy which can be realized two years from now if I will remain persevering.  

Last June, I painted "A New Beginning" showing the transition from the darkness of the Underground River to the green color of nature.  The sights I've seen inside the Underground River were just amazing but the transition to the green color of nature was so refreshing so I thought that could be a very good symbol of a new beginning, I didn't know it was an exact symbol of what I will be starting two months later.

Starting on Thursday, I will be attending 50 hours of orientation at Green Life Center for Alternative Medicine with preceptorship at San Lazaro Hospital where it is also located. This educational institution was integrated to the Department of Health and is now the education partner of Tianshi Philippines, the Philippine branch of Tiens Biotech Group which manufactures state-of-the-art health gadgets and supplements based on the principles of TCM.

I have started the week preparing for this new undertaking.  The remaining days and hours might not be enough but I have enough passion to share whatever I've learned to help some people in pain. I will be bringing the gadgets I know that can help in pain management which is the focus of the training and practice for three days starting Thursday.

My painting, "A New Beginning" is for sale and I hope it will finally be sold so I can buy the latest Tiens gadget, the Acupoints Treasure Multifunctional Apparatus, an electroacupuncture for green acupuncture since it is needleless, and that will surely help me in this new career. For pain management though, I hope to prove that the Tiens Multifunctional Head Care Apparatus can relieve any pain even in other parts of the body aside from its versatility in managing illnesses involving the head.

Alternative Health Care and PNAAP

In the past, “alternative health care” was not an easy topic to discuss. Some believed that those alternative methodologies should still be proven with clinical studies. Until that was done, nothing could replace what was considered as the conventional and therefore right way of treating the sick, and that was the Western Medicine way.

Western Medicine however, always start with symptoms. Now that any information is just a fingertip away, caring for one's health from the time a baby is born is also a fingertip away. Now is the time when “symptoms” should pertain to signs of imbalances instead of signs of illnesses that can already be serious.

Perhaps the term “alternative” was used to also refer to therapies or tools that can address imbalances aside from herbs used as medicines, so as not to create confusion. So whatever is not “Western Medicine” is “Alternative Medicine”, and that includes all the Oriental medicine philosophies such as Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM which is really a traditional medicine as its name implies.

The concept of Yin and Yang in TCM is a clear indication of its main principle of balancing a person's well-being to sustain the latter’s normal state. Both Yin and Yang have “windows” or “bridges” to the other side so that transition can easily take place to achieve the required balance. Both “Western” and “Alternative” medicines should also have windows or bridges with clear boundaries and a common objective of maintaining a person's wellness.

The Philippines National Association of Acupoint Practitioners or PNAAP envisions to serve as a bridge from an alternative health care methodology to Western Medicine or even vice versa. This was made possible with PNAAP's initial partnership with a big company that manufactures high quality and state-of-the-art health gadgets, in addition to well researched and traditional supplements that were proven effective for thousands of years in TCM. These supplements can complement not only the health gadgets but also a number of medicines prescribed by Western Medicine practitioners. Such big company is Tiens Biotech Group, the manufacturer of a comb-like Balance Apparatus for Biological Physical Electricity that won awards 8 times in international expositions of invention held in United States, France, Switzerland and Singapore. He or she should strive to identify what exactly caused a person’s imbalance and perform the corresponding acupoint therapies required, adhering to PNAAP’s Standard of Practice and Code of Ethics, which include guidelines on when to refer a patient to the Western Medical Practitioner. He or she should also know by heart, Tiens’ Technical specification of each health product and gadget before using them. Last but not least, his or her personal satisfaction is derived from helping other people to stay healthy. The financial reward is never the motivating factor and thus remains only as a reward.

Here we go again

Trials and challenges come and go and my last biggest trial was during that time I wrote my previous post titled "Stretch to the max". I haven't published a post in this blog since then because of the several small challenges that occupied my time.

Perhaps one of those "small" challenges I mentioned is not really a small one because it took time before it made me confident that I was on the right track. I was trying to discover how to lessen the seizures of my special child as well as the "side effects" of the medicines that would lessen the seizures. I had to bother about the side effects because she has started to go to school and I noticed the side effects were affecting her moods while in school. I was sure they were side effects because one day I tried to give her very minimal dosage of just one medicine and she performed in school normally. But after her class, her seizures could be noticed though I've completed her medicines during break time, which was 30 minutes before the class finished.

Until one day, I've read about the close relationship between migraine and seizures. I had migraine for 3 weeks and was able to tolerate the pain because of a TIENS comb gadget but the pain was persistent and I was advised to take TIENS Beneficial, a supplement tested for oxygen uptake, and I was cured instantly! I am now giving the same supplement to my special child and all the more I use the comb gadget and a needleless acupuncture gadget or Tong Bao now that I'm aware that one side effect of one of her medicines is also migraine. Maybe the reason why I can now call them small challenges was because I was already stretched to a point. But after you are stretched, another trial will come your way and in my case it's here again! My son was admitted to a hospital in a province where he was given an assignment and he left only yesterday. He had his usual GERD early this morning. The province is too far from us so all I can do is pray hard that he'll get well and maybe look for people in that province who can see how he is doing. He was confined in St. Paul's hospital in Tacloban City, which is in the province of Leyte in Philippines.

Marketing with Compassion

First of all, I'd like to thank my son for inspiring me to write this post because of a discussion we had yesterday morning.

I was telling my children to notify me whenever there will be a wellness exhibit or similar program in their office because I might be able to participate, using my Tiens Acumagic or Electronic Acupuncture gadget. Just last week, we participated in the wellness exhibit of my husband's former office and I found the experience very fulfilling because I felt that I helped people. What I wasn't able to clarify was I couldn't do that without the gadget. In fact I was supposed to market the gadget, and not just tell people what steps they should take to prevent illnesses they will most likely have after 6 months if they don't do any preventive measures. Usually, I leave everything to God, and just focus on what I think can help people at the moment. Perhaps later, they will be interested to own that gadget too. But at that moment, the thought that I could sell a product worth more than 10,000 Philippine pesos never entered my mind.

Marketing Tiens products should be my objective in participating in a wellness exhibit but I tend to forget about that. I am a distributor, not a doctor. But I also want to share everything that I learned about TCM or Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is the philosophy behind the products of Tiens, so I believe I can speak about it too. The question now is what do I want to share? TCM or the products of Tiens? If I want to talk about TCM then I should not mention any Tiens products. That would be hard on my part because I am not a TCM Doctor, though I have some medical background as a Medical Technology graduate, and have been exposed to the medical clinic industry supporting its Information Technology applications. But TCM is quite different from Western Medicine. The good thing about TCM is it was designed to be easily understood by laymen, except acupuncture which has to be studied in detail, though the electronic acupuncture of Tiens was made for laymen so it included instructional "recipes" that can be easily followed by laymen.

Well, I guess, as long as I know I can help people because I'm sure of what I'm talking about, that's all that matters. As far as Tiens products are concerned, especially the supplements, I have my own laboratory results to show, before and after I took a specific supplement.

Preventing cancer

Yesterday, I went to Makati Medical Center (MMC) to get the results of the sonogram of my breasts. It is about one block away from the office of Tianshi Phils. so I told my husband to just wait for me there since I haven't seen any male waiting inside the Breast Clinic of MMC. When I came back to Tianshi Phils., there were a number of distributors there, and one of them is my sister, Liza. My husband, Liza and I were comparing the current results with the results six months ago but there seems to be no change. What's more important however, is the printed result on the current findings saying "No features suspicious for malignancy".

The other distributors joined us when we were discussing what can be the best supplement that can prevent benign tumors from becoming cancer. There were suggestions, until one distributor told us about successful cases of people who underwent surgery to remove the affected part with cancer, and then went to her for therapy, by just lying on the mattress of Tiens. We knew that this is the best product of Tiens that can prevent illnesses, I even shared its features in my other blog, "Dreams List", because it is "A dream product". However, those who have cancer cannot use this mattress since it can even nourish the cancer. But for those who were already operated and the cancer was removed, they can lie on the mattress to prevent the regrowth of cancer.

I was convinced that this is the best product for me but we don't have extra funds to purchase it, nor sufficient funds for our daily expenses. I am now praying for the release of the check of the buyer of our townhouse by Pag-ibig Fund. The amount of the check is not even sufficient to fund 40% of our daily expenses for the coming year since we already have debts to pay for the next 18 months, but I think I have to prioritize this need for cancer prevention, so I need to allocate funds for it, "bahala na" (a popular Filipino belief meaning "come what may"}. I have to prepare around 50,000 pesos to purchase it, but I will be getting rebates maybe amounting to 8,000 pesos or more depending on my rank in Tiens by the time I'll buy it.

We also discussed the following prevention practices which I or anyone preventing cancer should accustom ourselves to, even before we get the Tiens Dream Bio-energy Mattress or any supplements:
1. No meat. It is the food of cancer.
2. Eat more fruits and vegetables.
3. No softdrinks and processed foods (no more ham and hotdog for me? OMG)
4. Exercise even by just walking 4 hrs. once a week.

One of my best friends whose one breast was operated for very early stage of malignant cyst has convinced me to come with her to the regular novena to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Baclaran every Wednesday. I have to walk fast from the jeepney station to the MRT station, walk to the LRT station and then walk to the church, and then after the novena is a back-and-forth walk with her to the small shopping malls around, so that ensures my regular weekly walking exercise. I haven't mentioned to her about the Tiens mattress so I feel obliged now to tell how it can help her avoid the growth of cancer cells.

To summarize the features of Tiens Dream Bio-energy Mattress, it has alternating magnetic therapy, germanium stones that will emit infra-red for a regulated number of minutes, tourmaline stones that will activate for another number of minutes to produce negative ions, and jade stones. There is a controller that regulates the number of minutes of stone activation. On the other hand, I know that the list of practices to prevent cancer I've presented here is too short, so there should be a part 2 of this post.

The most versatile gadget

I guess you'll agree if I say that the most versatile gadget a person can own should have something to do with his or her wellness. I'm talking about the Comb Massage Gadget of Tiens that sells like hotcake! Even in times when it is out of stock, it is still selling as an IOU item. Can any product beat that? That only shows that most people are health conscious because they fear pain, and the most used feature of this product is to eliminate pain that can be felt in any part of the body. That is probably the main reason why anybody buys this product, though it is technically called Apparatus for Blood Pressure Reduction, a gadget whose main function is to regulate the blood pressure of hypertensive people, through bio-electricity.

The product was designed by Gao Jiajun who won 8 prizes for his design in international technology invention design, with applied biotechnology medical theory to cure hypertension, and is patented. Among the prizes won by Jiajun were international golden awards from United States, France, Switzerland, Singapore and China.

The following is a summary of the scope and functions of this gadget:

Heart and brain vessel - reduces high blood pressure, balances blood pressure, reduces rate of incidence of diseases of heart and brain vessel, eliminates coronary artery convulsion and lightens heart load.

Brain clearing - clears brain and freshens thinking resulting to enhanced intelligence, eliminates tiredness and insomnia, also resulting to a clear, beautiful face. Pimples may be cleared as well by touching the metal teeth of the comb, also called cogs, on the face for 3-5 minutes, and wrinkles removed by touching the back of the comb, which is a smooth metal ring used for conduction when holding the comb for regular use, also for 3-5 minutes.

Pain - eliminates pain due to headache, omodynia, arthritis, toothache, stomach, liver, kidney stone, pancreas inflammation, pain of waist and back, pneumonia, asthma, etc.

Hair protection - controls hair loss, graying of hair and alopecia or dandruff.

Commonly known as comb massage gadget because it is used like a comb, this gadget follows the same principle of ECG and EKG where abnormal heart rhythms are detected through bioelectricity. The only difference is after the comb detects abnormal currents (positive ions also caused by radiations from cellphones and computers}, it passes though the VIC of the gadget which is an integrated circuit, bringing back negative ions that will balance the body's ions. A faster effect was found in coincidence with acupuncture points, so for hypertensive patients, combing from the top of the head to the nape where there are acupoints at a slow rate of 2 strokes per minute, and also pressing the fingertips of one hand to the cogs, one finger per cog, are highly recommended, both procedures taking 3-5 minutes each. The VIC is working properly if the light indicator is on, otherwise, conduction might be absent due to clothing or absence of touch, or the 2 AAA batteries are not working properly.

The metal teeth of the comb or cogs, cover a big area when combing, so that it is not necessary to identify the exact acupoints of the body. It is lightweight and can be brought anywhere, just like bringing a hairbrush inside the bag. I carry one all the time, and it functions as my hairbrush. I no longer take medicines for headache because this gadget does the job of eliminating my headache, which in the past cannot be removed by paracetamol.

This gadget was the start of it all, the reason why I became a member of Tiens or Tianshi Phils., and I've already told that story in my previous post "At peace in the midst of China scare". The retail price of this product may vary if the member or distributor like me, can give it at a lower price, but at present, the recommended retail price is 3,960 pesos, which is much cheaper than the deposit to be paid in most private hospitals before a patient can be admitted. At peace in the midst of China scare

I am now at peace for the longest time. The irony is I owe this peacefulness to products made in China that is scaring the whole world! What I can say is we are now faced with the challenge to listen to one another, especially to people close to our hearts, and the bigger challenge is when two people closest to us have different opinions. Now is the time for each one of us to have an open mind and heart, because each one of us has his or her own story, just like the children who were victims of the melamine found in milk.

Here goes my own story. Before the China scare, I’ve accepted the fact that I can no longer be employed in any company because of my age. I also stopped waiting to be hired by a network marketing company supposedly as their HR Manager in their Philippine branch, and the reason is a long story. I decided that I was free to be seen in the offices of other network marketing companies, which included Tianshi Phils., where I bought a comb massage gadget months ago. This gadget made me curious because the doctor who introduced to me this comb gadget was able to save a stroke patient inside the plane by just combing the scalp of the patient for 5 minutes. This gadget is technically called Hypotension Apparatus, but also relieves arthritic pain or any pain in any part of the body.

I started to attend the trainings in Tianshi Phils., which is only one of the branches of the company also known as Tiens, and which has offices in 110 countries. It has 9 factories worldwide which include one in Spain, one in Russia, one in U.S. and another one in Malaysia or Indonesia. The biggest factories are of course within the 1,000,000 sqm. area owned by Tianjin Tianshi Engineering Co. in China. The company received several awards for its modern biotechnology, from different organizations like United Nations, and has all the certifications for high quality, food safety and pharmaceutical safety like HACCP in 2007, updated ISO 2000-2005 only last September 7, 2008, Halal, Kosher,etc. It has partnerships with American Pfizer and French L’oreal to maintain products at high quality and world-leading level. Tiens has introduced leading manufacturing equipments from Germany, U.S., France and Japan.

So much can be said about the company, but people who have used their products have much, much more to say. In the Philippines, probably the most amusing anecdote can be heard from Tianshi Davao who treated a girl with brain tumor and the brain tumor was gone after 3 months, just by using supplements like High Calcium Brain Tonic and Cordyceps but I guess they also used the third generation of acupuncture gadget (no needles). Yesterday, we gave Kuya Danny, my brother-in-law, the High Calcium Brain Tonic as a birthday gift. My training in Tiens include modern acupuncture and my husband and I intend to attend a more intensive training next month, where we can be licensed therapists afterwards, if we pass the written and practical examinations.

I see to it that my learnings from Tiens are supported by my researches for reliable materials from the internet. I found a very nice research material which included scientific studies about Cordyceps and which I also sent to most of my friends and relatives. I am now taking Cordyceps so it will inhibit the growth of the benign cysts found on my breasts during my last scheduled sonogram. I no longer fear the possible onset of breast cancer later. If ever there is a gift I’d like to give my mother who is now in Las Vegas, I’d like to give Tiens Cordyceps, because it will also give me peace of mind about her health.

By the way, I’m not yet perfectly well as of this writing. Almost two weeks ago, I was exposed to the rains and changes in weather and almost caught a flu. But I followed the testimonies of others who have tried halting a flu or colds with Tiens Cordyceps, so I took 5 capsules between 9-11 in the morning and another 5 capsules from 7-9 in the evening, with an almost empty stomach, and with warm water. I knew that the Zinc of Tiens can be a big help in my battle with the bacteria, but I wanted to try Tiens Cordyceps alone. It seemed like a long battle, but only a few thick threads of colored mucus came out, I couldn’t even call them phlegm, and my cough was caused by the occasional itchiness of my throat, as if bacteria were trying to pass through my lungs but could not. The itchiness is gone after I finally sought the help of Tiens Zinc but only for one day. I now have reduced the number of Tiens Cordyceps capsules to just two each time. I have to always include the brand “Tiens” just to be fair to all brands available which might have varying effectiveness.

Two weeks of battle with the bacteria and I’m glad that just through natural means I emerged as the winner, my throat the only “injury” as manifested by the short-lived itchiness and some mucus. Why am I doing this battle anyway, if four days of taking antibiotics can also halt the cough? I’m doing this for my liver. I’ve learned in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) that the root cause of cysts or breast cancer is imbalance of energy in the liver. It is a known fact that drugs can damage the liver. In TCM, just an imbalance in energy can cause damage.

It is not just me who can be affected by the negative effects of drugs but my own special child Lyca, who really is very much exposed to drugs to alleviate the symptoms of her Cerebral Palsy. She now has a lump on her left breast though it could be an early maturation of her breast, but I just cannot remain complacent. Too bad, I cannot try Tiens Cordyceps on her yet. Maybe when she’s older. My only alternative now is to try the modern acupuncture on her, but using only the third generation gadget, the Tiens Acupoint Treasure which is a gadget with a magnetic point to be pressed and rubbed on acupoints that will disintegrate breast lumps. The fourth generation gadget uses electronic methods and is not advisable on her or any patient with tumors.

Now that you’ve read my story, I know you’ll understand why I am now more at peace than ever. It is just too bad that all of us cannot be at peace at the same time. Maybe that is the real essence of heaven. It is the only place where everyone can find everlasting happiness and peacefulness at the same time.

Whatever happened to the rest of my problems? I gave them all to God, of course not forgetting to thank Him everyday for willingly accepting them.

A fufilling career

I must admit that I'm enjoying what I'm doing now, while waiting to be accepted to a regular job. With the 600 pesos membership fee that I paid, I can attend as many trainings about Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, conducted by the Tiens leaders for the members.

I loved selling but I didn't have the necessary passion for it. Until I experienced financial distress and should find a way to earn. The first opportunity that would not require me to invest further was to be active in Tiens, where I bought some health gadgets six months ago when I still had enough cash, and which I felt I will be needing to prevent serious illnesses, or that my special child will be needing for her physical therapy. Now, all I have to do is to try selling those kind of health gadgets, which I know will help people avoid the hospital.

What I'm doing now is not easy, because only a few can afford to buy most health gadgets. But if they can be informed how these gadgets, which are based on Traditional Chinese Medicine can prevent diseases, maybe they will prioritize owning some of these gadgets, like what I did, not knowing I was using the last cash I would have in a span of six months.

I can now feel a passion for selling health gadgets, because I know I can help people. I have to patiently study what needs to be learned so I can share the right information and procedures to potential customers. The only question in my mind now is not whether I will really earn from this, but whether this can be a lasting career for me, though I'm sure that it can be a fulfilling career.

It's (Acu) magic!

So far, the people I tried to test for problem areas or imbalance of energy in their bodies, by touching Acumagic's diagnostic pen on their left palms, were satisfied with the results, not because they were favorable, but because they showed problems in the body that the examined person already knew.
